Lucas Braathen takes the first victory in giant slalom in WC Solden
The opening giant slalom in Solden, Austria was won by Lucas Braathen from Norway for the first time in his career. The 20-year-old is the first Norwegian to win in the Rettenbach Glacier since 2007. “I believed on the podium today, but it is the icing on the cake for the victory,” Braathen told Eurosport cameras. He was joined on the podium by a pair of Swiss. Marco Odermatt finished second. The third place was taken by the winner of the first round, Gino Caviezel.
